Cast Away is a Tom Hanks and Wilson the Volleyball film about the role of Resourcefulness in partnership and committed relationships, as well as its vices of Artifice and Fallowness, or "wasting opportuunity." You can see ample information about it below. It is available for a small fee on the web.
In the film, Cast Away (2000),the King personality character played by Hanks actually relates to a Magician character of in the form of an actual island, and eventually the form of a volleyball. Often, in real life, the Magician personality is more gifted at Artifice, to pretend to know what to do to solve a problem or to inspire us, and the King in his depressive ways, may fall into a state of Fallowness, which in this film, sees Tom Hanks certainly do at times, where nothing he does makes progress or helps his spirits. He needs the "magic" of interpersonal relating, as we all do, to keep our spirits up, to set our sights on a future, and in this film, the main character certainly has to become not just physically resourceful, but emotionally and spiritually, too.
